Why do so many missionaries feel an alarming sense of isolation and abandonment? Why do so many fall through the net of care at times when they need the most help? Why does the Church hide from the reality that many missionaries are lonely, experience painful interpersonal conflict, are physically weary, spiritually dry and in a financial drought? Should we not ask the question, "what lies at the root, who is responsible and what can we do?"
